Dāna / Donations

Offer a voluntary donation

Teaching is offered in the spirit of dāna: a free contribution, according to your means and your heart, in support of practice and its transmission.

The Spirit of Dāna

The Dhamma is a gift,
not a commodity.

Teachings are offered freely, and at the close of a retreat, session, or teaching, participants are invited to offer dāna as an expression of gratitude.

Dāna may take many forms, financial contributions, acts of service, or simple words of thanks. What matters most is the spirit of appreciation.

This practice of reciprocity:

  • Honors the teacher and the teaching.
  • Supports students and their cultivation of wholesome qualities.
  • Invites all to participate in sustaining the tradition that carries the teaching.

Bhikkhus, if beings knew the result of giving and sharing as I know it, they would not eat without having given, nor would the stain of miserliness remain having overwhelmed their minds. Even if it were their last morsel, their last mouthful, they would not eat without having shared it if there were someone to share it with.
